Return On Freedom

Take a lesson from top executives such as Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates who have stepped down from being CEO at their companies. Time, our most valuable asset, is the only thing that cannot be replaced.  Taking the time to “stop and smell the roses” is approaching life with the attitude that each day is a gift. For this reason, it is important to spend your time doing the things that mean the most to you.

Phasing your retirement is a great way to adjust to more time on your hands. Scaling back to part time work will allow you to begin spending more time on other interests. Whether you like to volunteer at a local charity, or take on cooking classes, the first step is to create the time to pursue your interests.

The advertising industry is built upon telling us how to spend our money; nobody is telling us how to spend our time. To make the most productive use of our time, we have to set aside time for self-reflection. Consider allocating your most precious resource toward pursuits that can have a positive impact on those around you and your greater community.
